Bracknell Masters (2012)
Windsor fielded a relatively very small team into the Bracknell Masters which took place on Saturday 3rd March.
Attendance was lower than anticipated and on the day we lost a few swimmers due to illness but Windsor was represented by Richard Addis, Richard Bradford, Tim Delany, John Munday and Sasha Forster.
Richard Bradford set the pace for Windsor in session 1 by taking gold in the 30-34 50m Free with a time 26.25, Richard Addis taking silver in the 30–34 100M IM, John M and Sasha taking Bronze in the 55-59 200m Freestyle and 25-29 50m Backstroke respectively.
Session 1 finished with a very exciting relay race against Teddington, Spencer, Camden Swiss and Bracknell & Wokingham. The Mens 120+ years 100m Freestyle relay team consisting of Tim Delany, Richard A, John M and Richard B was a very closely fought race just beating Camden and Swiss and Bracknell and Wokingham into 3rd Place with a time of 51.56. We’d like to thank Tim for standing in at such short notice and leading the team out in the first leg of the relay.
Session 2 followed with gold for Rich A in the 50m Breastroke, and 2 Bronzes; 1 from Rich B in the 50m Fly and 1 from John M in the 100m Freestyle in their respective age groups.
Overall Windsor came away with 2 Golds, a silver, 5 Bronze and finished a respectful 30th in the Top Club Standings for such a small team.
With The FINA World Masters fast approaching having great results have given a much needed confidence boost to all.
