Help Save the Rushmoor Royals Open Meet

Sadly this Meet is under threat of being downgraded, or at worst cancelled, due to a lack of J1 and above fully qualified officials stepping forward to help run it in accordance with the rules of our Level 2 license.

Currently there are only 12 confirmed officials with less than 2 weeks to go. We need at least x10 or more to make it viable.

Rushmoor have had to reject many of their own swimmers, and those from other clubs, who bring with them an official because preference is no longer permitted. This is a very difficult situation to manage and one that many clubs will face in the future unless rules change.

Rushmoor are doing everything we can to source more officials from Hampshire, as well as their own club, but this isn't easy when they haven't got swimmers at the Meet.

Rushmoor need more help from you and the other clubs that have swimmers accepted. And they need it quickly!

This is an urgent request to our officials that are J1 fully qualified or above to ask them to step forward to help make sure that your accepted swimmers make their times count in a Level 2 Meet?

If you can help please contact Moira Tatton, Officials Coordinator at Rushmoor Royals Swimming School.

Rushmoor Royals Distance Meet

Please review the meet informationaccepted and rejected entry lists for the distance meet. Unfortunately it was heavily oversubscribed so there have had to be a large number of rejections.

We are still short of officials so if you have any officials who are available to help please send an officials form to Moira Tatton officials.rrsc@gmail.com. If the meet doesn't have enough officials to meet the licensing requirements times will not be eligible for submission to ASA rankings.

As the meet is licensed level 2 entry times must be on ASA rankings so we have rejected all entries without valid licensed times. Even after doing this the meet was 30% over-subscribed so unfortunately we have had to reject a lot of valid entries too. This has been done by age group in proportion to number of entries for each age group.

If you have been accepted but find that you are not able to swim please let me know so that the space can be offered to another swimmer who was rejected.

Swimathon 2016

A huge thank you to the swimmers for giving up their time last Sunday to take part in the annual Swimathon.

All the swimmers swam so well, competing to swim the greatest number of lengths in each relay. An especial well done to the Pike family, who all swam, and to our Swimathon veteran, Lucy Hopkins:). I was enormously impressed by those swimmers who then went onto Sunday night training...!

If you still have sponsorship money to give to me, please catch me at the pool (Thurs, Fri, Sat-WLC, Sun M'head) or give to your coach to pass on.annual Swimathon
