Swimathon 2016

A huge thank you to the swimmers for giving up their time last Sunday to take part in the annual Swimathon.

All the swimmers swam so well, competing to swim the greatest number of lengths in each relay. An especial well done to the Pike family, who all swam, and to our Swimathon veteran, Lucy Hopkins:). I was enormously impressed by those swimmers who then went onto Sunday night training...!

If you still have sponsorship money to give to me, please catch me at the pool (Thurs, Fri, Sat-WLC, Sun M'head) or give to your coach to pass on.annual Swimathon

Club Champs - 2016

Club Champs – notice to swimmers

This year club champs reverts to its original format and we are looking forward to a full month of club races in June. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing 8 Windsor hats poised on the blocks and ready to show their coaches that the hard work really has paid off!

So, we encourage you all to look at the schedule and enter everything that you are eligible for. Its important that all our swimmers, including the younger one, enter all eligible events. Club champs is the perfect opportunity to face your fear and swim 200 fly or 400IM – guaranteed you can do it and without a doubt it its good building blocks for open meet entries.

For Parents:

An entry form will be available very soon and as in previous years, the fee is one set amount to cover all events. The cost this year is £45, this has not increased from 2014. The fee goes towards the awards, trophies and medals as well as the awards presentation.

We will be sending an email to all qualified officials to help us run these events. As with all meets, they cannot happen without the support of our volunteers and officials so we would ask that you help as much as possible.

Many thanks for your support.

Windsor Lions Swimathon

Windsor Lions Swimathon - 15th May 2016 at 10:00-11:00 at Windsor Leisure Centre

Have fun, racing in team with your friends or other swimmers to raise funds for the club.

We are looking for swimmers from Improvers 1 and above to take part in relay teams of up to 8 swimmers in each team.

The teams will race each other, competing to see who can swim the most laps in 1 hour.  Each swimmer will collect sponsors.

Last year, as well as all the amazing swimmers from the club who took part, we also had an impressive team of parent swimmers who took part and either raced with their children or swam against our club swimmers. If you would like to do this, it is a really fun way to raise funds for our club.

Please encourage your child to take part as it is a brilliant opportunity to get involved in the club and have fun. They can either enter individually and be allocated a team, or swim with a group of friends as a team.

If your child wishes to take part, please contact Emma Head (welfare@windsorswimmingclub.co.uk), Anoushka Dovey or your group coach.

Many thanks!
