Our Academy is based at Windsor Leisure Centre and enrols swimmers from four and a half to nine years of age.  The carefully structured programme focuses on technical ability for the four strokes to the highest level and introduces and develops competitive skills, including starts, turns and finishes.

The Academy is made up of four levels: Beginners, Improvers, Advanced & Early Development.   Criteria are established for each group that are used to determine when swimmers move.  Swimmers are taught in small groups for Beginners to Improvers 3 with the group size increasing for Advanced and Early Development in preparation for the move to a coaching squad.

From Improvers 2 , we introduce diving skills, progressing to competitive racing starts. All of aspects of diving are taught in a minimum depth of 1.8m per Swim England requirements. Once swimmers join Improvers 2, they are invited to attend our Novice Galas, where we introduce them to the exciting world of competitive swimming.

Depending on the group level, lessons range from 30 minutes to one and a half hours. As swimmers progress through the programme, the number of sessions available increases from 1 to 4 sessions per week, totalling 6 hours per week.
